Latest version Magic DVD Ripper rips DaVinci and Geisha without any problems. Has its own “Compress the DVD to fit on a single layer disc” function, along with many others that the competition has like copy only the main movie, convert to different formats, etc. and all at a pretty decent price.
Magic DVD Ripper’s interface is pretty easy to understand from the start. Options are clear and straight-forward. Seems to be a solid stand-alone executable option, causing no conflicts with packet-writing software that I can find in my tests with the program.
Magic DVD Ripper might be worth a look if you want a ripper with some extra functions built-in.

Step 1. Launch Magic DVD Ripper and click the Convert tab.
Step 2. Insert your DVD into your DVD-ROM drive.
Step 3. Choose proper title, audio and subtitle. (Magic DVD Ripper will automatically choose the longest title and the first audio track. You may click to check if you chose the right title, audio and subtitle. You can also select a clip to rip there. If you want to rip multiple titles at one time, you may choose “Multiple titles” from the Title dropdown list to do that.)
Step 4. Choose a proper profile from the Profile dropdown list. You can choose “[More profiles ...]” to see all profiles. (If you want to create a new profile or adjust some parameters, please refer to How to adjust the profile to get suitable quality and file size?.)
Step 5. If necessary, you can change the destination folder and file name.
Step 6. Press the “Start” button to start ripping.
What’s the difference between Magic DVD Ripper and Magic DVD Copier?
Magic DVD Ripper can convert DVD to VCD, SVCD, AVI(DivX), WMV, iPod and PSP formats, Magic DVD Copier can’t.
Magic DVD Copier has burning function, it can copy DVD movie to blank DVD disc directly. Magic DVD Ripper can only copy DVD to hard drive. You need a burning software like Nero to burn it.
